Roses, Costa Brava: Serene, Comfortable and Peaceful
Roses is relaxing all year long. It is the only beach resort on Costa Brava that is facing west and thus every visitor enjoys the sunset splendor over the gulf. It has a blue flag beach that is wide and almost 2.3 kilometers (1.4 miles) long. Clear waters and plenty of golden sands for everyone.
Not much is left from the old town. The architecture is rather new but the mediterranean style is as comfortable as the weather itself. Small villas stretch over the hills with the best sea view you can imagine. But there are definitely archaeological attractions here. Also, the quiet hiking trails of Cap de Creus natural park are worth exploring.
Roses benefits of perfect locations for photography, two piers that go 300 meters into the sea, as well as various viewpoints.
The local restaurants offer a good variety of recipes. But if you’ve heard of the world’s best restaurant, El Bulli, it has been closed in 2011. Some former chefs run a restaurant in Cadaqués called Compartir, so you might ass well drive there for a treat. It’s a 30 minutes ride on a curvy mountain road. Don’t forget to make a reservation.
